Dubai's summer is not just uncomfortable — it is mechanically destructive. Ambient temperatures above 46°C, surface temperatures on parked car components exceeding 80°C, and humidity cycles that corrode electrical connections create a failure environment that compresses what would be years of wear in a temperate climate into a single season. Understanding which systems are under attack — and why — is the foundation of keeping your car reliable through August.

The Battery: Dubai's Most Predictable Casualty

Car batteries fail at higher rates in hot climates than cold ones, despite the common assumption that cold weather is the enemy. Heat accelerates the chemical reactions inside a lead-acid battery — specifically, it speeds up electrolyte evaporation and plate corrosion. A 5W-40 or 0W-40 full synthetic, changed at 8,000–10,000 km intervals, is the minimum standard for UAE conditions.
