Injector Cleaning Services Dubai — Ultrasonic Clean & Flow Test at DIP

Rough idle, misfires or rising fuel bills? We remove, measure, ultrasonically clean and re-test every injector — and show you the before-and-after numbers.

Fuel injector cleaning is a professional service that removes the varnish, carbon and fuel deposits that build up inside and on the tip of your car's fuel injectors. At FixHive Garage in Dubai Investment Park (DIP), we take the injectors out of the engine, test each one on a calibrated flow bench, clean them in an ultrasonic bath, re-test them to confirm they deliver the right amount of fuel in the right spray pattern, and refit them with new seals. Most petrol cars are ready the same day.

A fuel injector opens and closes up to 50 times per second, spraying a precisely measured mist of fuel into the engine. The nozzle holes are smaller than a human hair. When even one of those holes is partly blocked, that cylinder runs lean, the engine computer compensates by adding fuel to all cylinders, and you start to feel it: a shaky idle, a hesitation when you pull away from the lights on Sheikh Zayed Road, and a fuel tank that seems to empty faster every week.

Watch: Injector Cleaning & Flow Testing at FixHive

This is a real job from our DIP workshop. The injectors come out of the engine and go onto our test bench, where each one fires into its own graduated glass cylinder. You can see straight away if one injector delivers less fuel than the others — or drips when it should be closed.

  • Side-by-side flow measurement for every injector
  • Spray-pattern and leak-down check
  • Ultrasonic cleaning, then re-tested to confirm the fix

⚠️ Signs Your Fuel Injectors Need Cleaning

Rough, shaking or uneven idle — worse with the AC on
Engine misfire or flashing check engine light
Hesitation or flat spot when accelerating
Fuel consumption higher than it used to be
Hard starting, especially after the car has sat in the heat
Smell of petrol around the car or from the exhaust
Failed emissions / RTA test or strong exhaust smell
Fault codes P0300–P0308, P0171, P0174, P0201–P0208

Why Injectors Clog Faster in Dubai

Fuel injectors don't usually clog while the engine is running — they clog after you switch it off. When a hot engine is shut down, the small amount of fuel left on the injector tip is "baked" by residual heat. In a mild climate that heat soak is brief. In Dubai, where under-bonnet temperatures can pass 90°C on a summer afternoon and the car then sits in an open car park at 45°C, the fuel film cooks into a hard varnish. Repeat that twice a day for a year and the deposit builds up layer by layer.

Driving style adds to it. Short school runs, stop-start traffic on Al Khail Road and long periods of idling with the AC running mean the engine rarely reaches the sustained load that helps keep injectors clean. Cars that are parked for weeks while owners travel over the summer are also at risk — fuel slowly oxidises in the rail and injectors, leaving gum deposits behind.

Modern direct-injection (GDI) petrol engines — found in most VW, Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Ford EcoBoost, Hyundai and Kia models built in the last decade — are even more sensitive. Their injectors sit directly in the combustion chamber, operate at pressures of 200 bar or more, and are exposed to the full heat and soot of combustion. Small changes in spray pattern quickly lead to misfires, carbon build-up on the intake valves and higher emissions.

The good news is that injector problems are one of the most fixable engine faults. Caught early, a professional clean restores most injectors to factory flow and costs a fraction of replacing them — and far less than the catalytic converter damage that a long-term misfire can cause.

Our Process

How We Clean & Test Your Injectors — Step by Step

1

Diagnostic Scan First

Before touching a spanner we connect dealer-level diagnostics to read fault codes, short- and long-term fuel trims, misfire counters per cylinder and fuel pressure. This confirms the injectors are the problem — not a coil, spark plug, vacuum leak or weak fuel pump — so you don't pay for work you don't need.

2

Careful Removal

We depressurise the fuel system and remove the fuel rail and injectors. On engines where the intake manifold must come off, we inspect the intake ports and valves for carbon at the same time and photograph anything worth your attention.

3

"Before" Flow Test

Each injector is mounted on our calibrated flow bench and fired into its own measuring cylinder — exactly what you see in the video above. We record delivery volume at idle and full-load pulse widths, check the spray pattern and run a leak-down test to catch injectors that drip when closed.

4

Ultrasonic Cleaning

The injectors go into an ultrasonic bath with a dedicated injector solvent. High-frequency sound waves create millions of tiny bubbles that break up varnish and carbon inside the nozzle and pintle. At the same time the injectors are electrically pulsed so the solvent flushes through the internal passages, not just the outside.

5

Back-Flush & "After" Flow Test

We back-flush the injectors, then re-test them on the bench. The goal is every injector within a few percent of the others and within manufacturer specification, with a clean, even cone-shaped spray. Any injector that still fails is identified and quoted for replacement — we never refit a faulty one.

6

New Seals, Filters & Refit

Every injector gets new O-rings, pintle caps and inlet filter baskets, and GDI injectors get new combustion (Teflon or copper) seals. Reusing old seals is the number one cause of fuel leaks after an injector job, so this is always included.

7

Reset, Code & Road Test

We clear fault codes, reset fuel-trim adaptations and — where required on GDI and dual-injection engines — program the injector correction codes into the ECU. Then we road test, re-scan and hand you the before-and-after report.

Choosing the Right Method

Ultrasonic Cleaning vs. On-Car Cleaning vs. Fuel Additives

MethodWhat it doesBest for
Off-car ultrasonic clean + flow testInjectors removed, measured, ultrasonically cleaned and re-measured. Removes hard deposits inside and out and proves the result with numbers.Misfires, rough idle, high fuel use, high-mileage engines, GDI and hybrid. Our recommended service.
On-car fuel system cleanConcentrated cleaning solution run through the fuel rail with the engine running. No removal, no measurements.Preventive maintenance on low-mileage port-injection cars with no symptoms.
Bottled fuel additiveMild detergent added to the tank. Helps stop new deposits forming.Keeping clean injectors clean between services. Will not fix an existing fault.
Injector Types We Service

Port Injection, GDI & Hybrid — All Makes

Port Fuel Injection (PFI)

The most common type on Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Mitsubishi and older European engines. Injectors spray into the intake port at low pressure. Ideal for ultrasonic cleaning, and usually the quickest job — most cars are back the same afternoon.

Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI)

TFSI, TSI, EcoBoost, BMW N/B-series, Mercedes CGI, Hyundai/Kia GDi. High-pressure injectors mounted in the cylinder head. Need special removal tools and new combustion seals. We also check intake valves for carbon while they are out.

Dual Injection & Hybrid

Toyota and Lexus D-4S, VW/Audi EA888 Gen 3 and other engines that use both port and direct injectors, plus Toyota, Lexus and Hyundai petrol hybrids. Both injector sets are tested and cleaned, and hybrid systems are put into service mode safely before work starts.

How to Keep Your Injectors Clean in Dubai

Once your injectors have been cleaned and flow-tested, a few simple habits will keep them performing for longer in the UAE climate:

Hybrid owners should pay particular attention. In a Toyota, Lexus or Hyundai hybrid the petrol engine switches on and off hundreds of times on a typical Dubai commute. Every shutdown is a heat-soak cycle for the injectors, so hybrids benefit from a flow test roughly every 40,000 km even when they feel smooth.

Injector Cleaning Price in Dubai — Price on Request

Every engine is different, so we price injector cleaning on request rather than quoting a one-size-fits-all figure. The cost depends on the number of cylinders, the injector type — port injection, direct injection (GDI) or dual injection (both) — and how much of the engine has to be removed to reach the injectors. Direct-injection engines also need specific combustion seals and, on some models, ECU coding after refitting.

Send us your car make, model and year on WhatsApp and we'll confirm the exact price before you come in. You always receive a written quote before any work starts, seals and the flow-test report are included, and replacement injectors are only quoted if one fails the test after cleaning. No hidden extras and no advance payment.

Cleaning injectors at the first sign of trouble is one of the best-value repairs you can make. A new OEM injector for a modern direct-injection engine is expensive, and a long-term misfire left untreated can damage the catalytic converter — a far bigger bill than a professional clean.

Common Questions

Injector Cleaning Dubai — FAQs

Injector cleaning is priced on request, because the cost depends on your engine: the number of cylinders, whether it uses port injection, direct injection (GDI) or both, and how much has to be removed to reach them. Send us your car make, model and year on WhatsApp and we will give you an exact quote. You always get a written quote before any work starts, with no hidden charges and no advance payment.

Common signs are a rough or shaking idle, engine misfires (often with a flashing check engine light), hesitation when accelerating, higher fuel consumption than usual, a fuel smell, difficult starting, failed emissions test or fault codes such as P0300–P0308, P0171/P0174 (lean) or P0172/P0175 (rich). A diagnostic scan and flow test confirm whether the injectors are the cause.

For most petrol cars in Dubai we recommend a professional injector clean and flow test every 40,000–60,000 km, and every 30,000–40,000 km for direct-injection (GDI) engines, cars doing mostly short trips, or vehicles that sit for long periods in the heat. Hybrid cars, whose petrol engines start and stop hundreds of times per trip, benefit from a flow test roughly every 40,000 km.

Yes. Bottled fuel additives can help keep clean injectors clean, but they cannot remove hardened varnish and carbon from the injector nozzle and filter basket. Ultrasonic cleaning removes deposits from inside and outside the injector, and the flow bench proves the result with measured numbers, which an additive cannot do.

Most 4- and 6-cylinder petrol cars are ready the same day, usually within 3–5 hours. V8 and GDI engines where the intake manifold must come off can take a full working day. We confirm the timing when you book.

Most clogged injectors recover fully after ultrasonic cleaning. Injectors with a failed electrical coil, cracked body, worn needle or internal leak cannot be restored. Because we flow-test before and after cleaning, we show you the exact figures and only recommend replacing an injector that fails the test. We can supply genuine OEM or quality remanufactured units.

Yes. We service port fuel injection (PFI), gasoline direct injection (GDI/TFSI/TSI/EcoBoost) and dual-injection engines such as Toyota and Lexus D-4S, including petrol-hybrid models. GDI injectors are refitted with new combustion seals and, where the manufacturer requires it, injector correction codes are programmed into the engine ECU.
